We are proud to show our puppies to people

who have come to us for a puppy, whether it be

for a show puppy or a pet puppy.

It is our responsibility to educate people about the

reason for spay/neuter contracts for pet puppies.

It is our responsibility to protect our puppies from

resellers who buy for breeding farms and, quite

possibly, committing our sweet puppies to an

uncertain life without proper nourishment and

health care, devoid of loving kindness.

How awful!

We remember sweet little puppies that cuddled

in our arms, gave us warm, toasty kisses and

followed us around the house for puppy treats

as soon as they were old enough to leave the

whelping box. We care about our puppies all the

days of their lives. We strive to insure that they

will grow old with people who cherish them.

A contract is a good thing.  A contract should be a

clarification of the terms agreed upon between

buyer and seller, terms that protect the buyer,

the seller and, most important of all, the puppy.

There is a 'network' of good breeders who, if they

don't have puppies, will usually send you to

someone who does. Good breeders care about

what happens to a puppy when it leaves their

homes. They should also be available to answer

any questions that arise about the care of the

puppy as it grows up. It would be a good idea to

read as much as you can about the Papillon,

whether you are buying a pet or show puppy.

The American Kennel Club

offers for sale a video about the Papillon.

The Papillon standard is quoted throughout the

video.  Also, books may be ordered through

book dealers or from vendors at dog shows.

Videos are usually available from the

Papillon Cub of America  as well as videos filmed

during our National Specialties for Papillons.

Hoflin Publishing offers a new Papillon handbook

each year.  Papillons are great family dogs,

wonderfully sweet and at the same time,

courageous in the face of pending danger.

They are handsome dogs with their bright,

parti-color coats. They are, without a doubt, 

the most wonderful warm and loving companions for

young and old alike.
